Potholes hit harder when your tires are under-inflated - and late winter/early spring is prime pothole season across the city.

Check your tire pressure and inflate to the recommended PSI listed on the sticker inside your driver’s side door frame (not the number printed on the tire). Proper pressure helps your tires absorb impacts and lowers the risk of rim or sidewall damage.

If you get a winter-tire insurance discount, most policies usually require them to stay on until April.

Before booking a tire swap, quickly check your insurance policy or insurer’s website to confirm the required winter-tire dates. Removing them too early could mean losing your discount or creating complications if you need to make a claim. And let’s be honest - in Toronto it could be 15°C today and snowing tomorrow, so keeping them on a little longer isn’t the worst idea anyway!
